Step Up Revolution is the fourth movie in the Step Up series of movies. The movies all feature different leads but they are all connected together one way or another. In the first Step Up movie, Channing Tatum is the street kid who works with a ballet dancer in a dance showcase. In the second movie, Step Up 2: The Streets, Channing Tatum convinces Briana Evigan to audition to enter a school for the arts. She gets expelled but is allowed to return after the director watches her with her crew of fellow MSA dancers in a street dance competition.
One of the MSA dancers in Step Up 2, Adam Sevani (more popularly known by Step Up fans as Moose), goes to college in Step Up 3D. He joins a dance crew (Pirates) and they enter the World Jam dance contest, which they win even after stiff competition from their rivals The Samurais.
From what I've read and seen about the latest movie, it's about a group of dancers who perform flash mobs as performance art which later turns into protest art after a a wealthy man threatens to destroy their neighborhood for his business interests. The whole flash mob/performance art thing reminds me of Street Dance 3D, a sort of UK version of Step Up (which I'm sorry to say just isn't up to par). I hear that Moose and some of the other dancers from the Step Up movies have cameos in the movie as well to link this one to the others. It's just sad that they don't have longer parts here because I really like Moose.
I'm excited to see this movie. Considering the fact that each movie gets better and better I'm expecting a lot from this one. It's great that I get to see my favorite So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew dancers and crews together in one movie so I'm not going to miss this!
