This Means War

Chris Pine.  Reese Witherspoon.  Those names a leads of this movie were the reasons why I decided to watch this movie.

This Means War is the story of two spies who are the best of friends.  Both end up dating the same girl and it is the antics of both guys in their attempts to one-up each other and win the girl's heart that the movie is mostly about.

I thought that the movie was funny.  It wasn't about the romance -- it was actually more about the bromance between the male leads who have a bond like brothers and how one girl changed everything for them.

It's amazing to think that Tom Hardy is the same guy who played Bane on The Dark Knight Rises.  He is so different in this movie!  I actually found his character more endearing than Chris Pine's.  I wished a little that he'd get Reese in the end but it was also touching to see his character reconcile with his ex-wife.

Another thing I loved about the movie was Reese Witherspoon's job in it.  Product testing -- the way it was presented in the movie at least -- looks fun!  I don't know how well it actually pays in real life but if it does pay well, can someone please direct me to the nearest office for it?

I hear ya; Tom Hardy’s name was mainly the reason why I decided to rent this film. One of my coworkers at DISH told me about this film a few weeks ago and raved about Tom Hardy, so I finally got around to watching it the other night after getting it in the mail with my Blockbuster @Home package. I was going to flat out purchase it at first, but thankfully for my wallet I changed my mind at the last minute to just make it a rental. I thought the movie was funny as well with some of the scenes, but really I wasn’t at all impressed. I thought it was way too predictable with whom Reese's character was going to choose, and I totally felt like Tom Hardy's character would have been the better pick in the end too. Oh well, it was a good movie to watch for some entertainment, but nothing I would consider memorable (other than the gorgeous Hardy lol). :)
