Get Ready to Cry

Good news for fellow Yoon Eun Hye fans like me! I heard from the grapevine that the drama I Miss You (otherwise known as Bogoshipda) from Korea will be aired on ABS-CBN!

This week is already the tail-end of the series in Korea. There’s actually just two last episodes to go. I’m very excited to see the feedback of the local audience when this is aired in the country because I think this is a good drama with twists and turns similar to Filipino telenovelas. Watching the series I even thought that this would be a good drama to be remade here in the country.

Starring Yoon Eun Hye (Coffee Prince) and Park Yoo Chun (Rooftop Prince), I Miss You is the story of Lee Soo Yeon and Hang Jung Woo, childhood sweethearts separated by a tragedy who are brought together again 14 years later.

I don’t want to go into detail about why they were separated so that I won’t spoil it for those who will only be seeing it on ABS-CBN but suffice to say the reunion does not necessarily lead to a happily ever after. There are so many complications that came with seeing each other again and actually ending up together seem just as impossible as the years they've spent apart. I still have no idea at this point, even with one episode to go, how this show will end but I am looking forward to it.

Fans of Eun Hye will be surprised seeing her in a straight-out drama. I think that this is the first time that she has tried this genre and she has been surprisingly well considering that she usually does romantic comedies.

There are so many sad and heart-wrenching moments in the series that feature that acting abilities of the cast and would make viewers cry. Detective series lovers would also appreciate the whole mystery that revolves around the story as well.

Before anyone thinks that this show is too heavy to watch, I can assure everybody that it does have its light moments.  Sometimes the light moments can end up really funny/hilarious because of the comic relief provided by Oh Jung Se, who plays the partner of Park Yoo Chun.  He is such a naturally funny guy in this series and you can always count on him to make you smile after all the crying in this show.

I hope that the series will be dubbed well by ABS-CBN. I was a little disappointed with how Eun Hye’s Lie to Me was dubbed on GMA just last year so I hope that the Kapamilyas will do a better job.

Koreanovela fans, you need to watch out for this. Have that tissue box ready beside you just in case.
