The holiday season is here, and it is the time when we usually all buy gifts for each other for Christmas day but with the pandemic, it just has not happened. This is also the time of year when I have my personal wish list, things that I would love to have but do not necessarily buy for myself. It is more of an aspirational thing, really. I would love to have these things but at the same time I have deemed them not practical for various reasons. Still, being the holidays and wishing that I were a kid that Santa has put on the good kids list, I make my list and hope that maybe one day, I can convince myself to buy them.

Honestly,
this year the things I would love to have are not material, but I do not
think that anyone would be interested in reading my “beauty pageant answers” to
what I want this Christmas so I will just move on to the things you can buy.
Some of these I can buy for myself, but I am just too frugal to do so (that and
I always have this guilt about buying nice things for myself, but that is for
a different post in the very distant future).
I am not
going to share all the things that I would love to have. There are a lot of
clothes, shoes, and makeup, and hair/skincare products that I would be happy to
receive/own, but that would be a really long list that no one would be
interested in. Plus, being at a place in my life where I hardly ever go out,
those things just do not make sense for me right now.
So, without any more rambling, here are some of the items on my Christmas Wish List!
Samsung Galaxy Tab s7+
I currently
own an iPad and an Apple pencil. The tablet has been useful for me at work and
for my side projects, but I have always been an android girl and I really love
using the pencil on my Note 10. When I saw that the s7+ had its own pen AND a keyboard
cover, I just knew that this was something I wanted. I am really hoping that
the pen on the tablet is just as good (if not better) than the one with the
Note 10. Having a keyboard cover also seems more practical than me carrying
around the Bluetooth keyboard I bought to pair with my iPad.
Unfortunately,
this is just too pricey for me to buy. Whenever I think of buying it, I think
of how many other things I can buy for the price of this one. I would still love
to own one, but maybe when the price goes down a bit unless Santa deems me
worthy.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3
I currently
own a Galaxy watch, but it is probably the most basic one they have, and it
came free with the Note 10 when I purchased it last year. The current watch I
own has been extremely useful for me and finding out the other features of this new and better version makes me want to own one.
The one
thing holding me back is being worried about the size I want to get. I have a
big wrist, but I also do not want the bulky look of the bigger size. I would
know for sure if I gave it a try but that would mean going out to the mall to
check it out, something that I do not want to do right now. I have kept away
from the malls to stay safe this long, I am not going to risk it for a watch.
Canon m50/ Canon Powershot Mark III
Now this is
a weird one for my wish list. I actually own an M50, but there is something wrong
with it and I cannot have it fixed (see my reason for not buying the Galaxy
watch). I love this camera so much and would like to be able to use it.
I am also
interested in the Powershot Mark III because they say it is perfect for
vlogging, which my family wants to do so I have also been considering it.
Again, not sure about it since I do have an M50 and the practical thing to do would
be to have it fixed (but I do not go to public places other than the office). I
am very curious about this, maybe someday when it is safe, I will go and check
it out.
Kindle Paperwhite
I love to
read, and I have been reading from my tablet and phone and it has been terrible
for my eyes. This one I have always been meaning to buy because it is not too big,
and it is not that bad for my eyes. I have been eyeing the 32GB version because
I have so many books on my Amazon list that I have yet to read and would like
to do so without causing permanent damage to my eyes. Sadly, this is always out
of stock when I check the online stores. The 8GB is available but based on
experience, I need the 32GB one more.
Well, those are some of the things on my list. Some of the things I would love are more of the adulting variety (mostly home improvements) and would be too long to elaborate on. These are some of those you can put in a box and hand over as a gift, and maybe one day I will get them (as a gift to myself, if I decide to do so). Just like everyone else though, what I would really love is for this pandemic to be over. For all of us to be safe, and to be able to do the things we used to pre-COVID.
What about you? If you could have anything you want this Christmas, what would it be?
